Шестидесятые годы - время бунта, свободы, время зарождения рок-музыки. Одним из важнейших музыкантов эпохи хиппи является Джими Хендрикс, американский гитарист-виртуоз, певец и композитор. В условиях не утихающей расовой дискриминации, Джими Хендриксу, вопреки своему цвету кожи, удалось приобрести огромный авторитет среди рок-музыкантов, поклонников жанра и контрукультурной молодежи.
Несмотря на то, что в современное время основные позиции в мировых чартах занимают рэп, R&B и поп-композиции, рок-музыка продолжает идти вперед и находить новые особенности звучания. В данной работе рассматриваются аспекты влияния фигуры Джими Хендрикса на развитие данного жанра.

The sixties is the time of rebellion, freedom, the time of the birth of rock music. One of the most important musicians of the hippie era is Jimi Hendrix, an American virtuoso guitarist, singer and composer. In the face of persistent racial discrimination, Jimi Hendrix, despite his skin color, managed to gain enormous prestige among rock musicians, fans of the genre and countercultural youth.
Despite the fact that in modern times the main positions in the world charts are taken by rap, R&B and pop compositions, rock music continues to go forward and find new sound features. This study examines aspects of the influence of the figure of Jimi Hendrix on the development of this genre.
